We’re delighted to announce that our Trustee, Philippe Jacon, has become the new Chair of the Board for Spirit Health Foundation.
Philippe replaces Tony Lowther who has resigned due to a change of role in his professional career – we thank Tony for all his work in our launch phase and early months.
Philippe brings extensive experience from senior leadership roles in global health, with a particular focus on expanding access to diagnostics in low- and middle-income countries.
These roles include President of BD Diagnostics, Diagnostic Systems, CEO of FIND (Foundation for Innovative New Diagnostics), and Senior Vice President, Global Access at Cepheid. He was a member of the Private Sector Constituency to the The Global Fund and of the Private Sector Constituency to the Stop TB Partnership.
As a current Trustee, Philippe has already demonstrated his dedication to Spirit Health Foundation, and his appointment as Chair was met with unanimous support from the Foundation’s board. We are truly fortunate to have Philippe’s leadership and guidance alongside our other outstanding Trustees.
Philippe expressed his enthusiasm for taking on the role:
“The goal of the foundation – making health easy and accessible in underserved communities in the world, as well as the approach to work with partners and not reinvent the wheel are spot on.
I am committed to bringing and sharing my experience and humbled by the confidence other trustees have expressed. Altogether with the management of the foundation, I am convinced our efforts will become impactful very rapidly.”
